pinpointrestaurant@gmail.com ![]() Located in Wilmington, NC, PinPoint Restaurant serves food deeply rooted in southern tradition and foodways. Chef Dean Neff’s menu changes daily and features the local bounty from Wilmington’s farmers, fisherman, oystermen, and shrimpers as much as possible. The restaurant opened in the spring of 2015 in the heart of downtown Wilmington, just a block from the Cape Fear River. Named after an unincorporated community outside of Savannah, GA near where Neff grew up, PinPoint pays homage to the rural community founded by freed slaves following the Civil War. The predominantly African-American population has a rich culinary history and many residents are from Gullah decent. This area had great influence on Neff as a chef and he has always been drawn to this community that relied on traditions, ingredients, and history for its food and culture.

We're two Sicilian boys from Texas who love to cook and eat. We love the Sicilian food our parents and grandparents cooked. We love the Creole and Southern food our family members picked up passing through Louisiana and stepping off the boat right on the dock in Galveston. And we love the Western food that's just part of being in Texas. Food, you see, isn't only about food. It's not some big secret. It's something that just happens when all of our interconnected families get together-the Carrabbas and the Mandolas, plus anybody with enough good sense to marry in. You may be poor, went the saying a mere generation ago, but you'll never be hungry.

Tony Savas, known to friends and colleagues as “Tugboat Tony,” has been in the tugboat business for most of his life.
Savas travels between Wilmington and Cape Canaveral, Florida, with his tugs that help maneuver commercial vehicles and Navy submarines. Savas, who would often give away over 600 pounds of coffee yearly as gifts to clients, always thought of opening a coffee and bagel shop. Now he’s the proud owner of Tugboat Tony’s Bagel Café, which serves breakfast and brunch; great bagels and coffee; and much, much more. |
