Ninth Annual WSSA Golf Tourney Held
The 9th Annual WSSA Golf Tournament was held on Monday, Sep 28, 2026 at Castle Bay GC. Our reporter and tournament director, again this year, was Drew Peck. His account follows below. This year’s tournament was held, once again, in Hampstead, NC, at Castle Bay Golf Course. We were blessed with a gorgeous, sunny day and to be outside golfing with friends! Forty-six softball loving golfers enjoyed the 82 degree weather! Please spread the word about this fun event. Last year we had 71 golfers participate and next year let’s see if we can get 80 to 100 golfers! |
|
We were fortunate to have four main tournament sponsors: Sound Retirement Solutions (SRS) - CEO Ashley Hopkins; Able Insurance Agency along with Atlantic Coast Agency - General Manager Miles Butler; and Graybar Chiropractic & Rehab - Marketing Director Chris Libert. Although no one was lucky enough to make a hole-in-one, these sponsors allowed us three great opportunities on three challenging par three holes! SRS provided each golfer with a nice ditty bag that included items from SRS, Able Insurance, State Farm, Aetna and Humana. For the 2nd year in a row, SRS conducted a putting contest on the practice putting green that the golfers really enjoyed!
The SRS staff was gracious enough to take photos of each foursome or threesome and you can see them by clicking here! Thanks a million to WSSA Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Kevin Ulmer, who does it all…solicits sponsors, coordinates ditty bag merchandise and puts them together with the help of Alan Abbate! |
